我现在是大学F1签证国际学生。summer时候在学校做了research，get paid那种，因为没有social security number，学校扣除了税，然后给了我check。请问这样合法么，会不会在续签的时候有影响？

Because you don't have SS#, then no one can find out you worked in the USA before. However, you must know whether your school apply for the ITIN, which is IRS Individual Taxpayer Identification Number, and is the same fuction as SS#, for you. This is also call W-7 application, it could replace SS#. If no this and no SS#, you worry about nothing.
