http://openparliament.ca/bills/41-2/C-24/NDP的议员还是为准公民们说了话的，她指出优待军人对入籍影响甚微，充其量10个人，由此不难看出这个笨蛋政府只是想通过修法来取悦某些群体；扩大语言测试范畴也有不妥；取消外劳年限不公平：“Another aspect worth debating that is upsetting people is the elimination of the use of the length of stay in Canada as a non-permanent resident. This measure is really troubling for many foreign students and temporary workers who have been in Canada for a few months, or even a few years, and who were planning on applying for citizenship in the near future. They now see that they might have to wait for many more years. This really changes their plans.”

保守党目的很明确，推出c24法案大量减少短期入籍人数以利于明年大选，因为他们知道新移民参与选举不会把票投给他们。鸡零狗碎之伎俩！
