Is there any minimum score requirement for language part?Or it does not matter as long as the total score is >= 67.I didn't take YS and don't plan to do so but I claimed the highest level inlanguage, but VO says the documents I provided were not enough andsuggests me take test. Otherwise he/she will give score based on documentsthey have. I only need 6 points to get 67 which should be no problem. But not sure there has any minimum requirement on that? BTW I have studied and worked in english speaking country.Thanks a lot.

Thats so bad. there is no certain score to require. for your case, I think the followings should be considered:1 VO solve your case with regular process, that means they send requirement to all applicants who have not taken english test. but no such informations from other friends.2 your document is not meet request that has been provided on website, ref http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/skilled/qual-3-2.htmlwould you pls provide more information about your case to us. like, where and when you applyed, etc.hope it can help you.

Thanks!I got MS degrees (China & aboard) and have been working several years in english speaking country. I have provided all possible info such as TOEFL/GRE, explained the official english educations and how I have been using english as the first language in work.If I don't take the test but give more explanations, what's going to happen?

I do not know the answer, but I guess you do not need to take YS if you only need 6 points to achieve 67. Even if the VO allocate 2 points to each session of your english proficiency (which means you are a poor user), you will have 8 points and that would be enough.Please keep in mind that VO may interview you in order to determine your language skill if you do not have YS. An interview would hurdle your case since it ussually takes much longer to proceed your case.

An interview would make your case much, much longer. At least 6 months than the case having YS scores. Good luck!

Let me tell you why. Everybody who applied in US can speak English. They stay/work in US/Canada for more than a year. In your case, you did not show VO how better you are than everyone else.

But if they know people can listen and speak english, specially quite awhile (studies, work...), how should they ask people to take test? This has already been meaning people can deal w/ the life in Canada. They don't have to rank people.

I never heard about it. All my friends took YS.You either take it or show VO how excellent you are and wait for the interview.
