City of VancouverSAP Business Analyst - Comp. 07-0323Close Date: August 17th, 2007[return to jobs listing page]The City of Vancouver has a vacancy for a SAP Business Analyst in the Business Support Services Division, Corporate Services Group. As an integral member of the SAP Business Support Team, the Business Analyst will work closely with managers and SAP users across the organization to support business needs; and manage projects from the planning through implementation stage to achieve optimum results. Major responsibilities will include providing timely and expert SAP advice, analyzing, recommending alternatives and implementing improvements to business procedures including operations and staffing resources; developing, modifying and maintaining complex Personnel Calculation Rules and Personnel Calculation Schemas as well as existing SAP configuration; coordinating and configuration/schema changes; participating in system upgrades including integration points to other modules; supporting the development and ongoing maintenance of corporate reporting; and documenting all configuration and process changes in SAP. The SAP Business Analyst will deliver presentations and training to users throughout the organization, maintain and update training materials; and continually upgrade technical knowledge and skills to meet business needs in a rapidly changing SAP and ERP environment.Qualifications:A diploma in Information Technology or a related business degree and preferably an SAP certification in the SAP HR module as well as knowledge of the integration between modules; and at least two years of recent experience developing and changing business processes within a municipality or other large, complex organization. Strong analytical and problem solving skills; good internal consulting skills; excellent oral, written, presentation, and facilitation skills; demonstrated excellence in providing customer service and a good working knowledge of office productivity tools (including Windows, Word, Excel, MS Project, MS Access) are required. Demonstrated experience and ability to work highly confidential information, exercising discretion, tact and diplomacy. Must have experience and understanding of payroll business processes and strong skills in writing Payroll and/or Time Evaluation schema in release of ERP solutions such as ESS, MSS, BI or portals. An Enhanced Reliability Check security clearance is also a requirement of this position. Salary Range:Compensation for this exempt position includes an annual salary of $61,233 to $76,537 (based on an hourly rate of $33.53 to $41.91) plus an excellent benefits and vacation package as well as an earned-days-off system.We thank all applicants for their interest.
