Dixie Bloor Neighbourhood Centre is looking for areceptionist. Please see details below:Position: Receptionist (Maternity Leave)Work Hours: 35 hrs per weekRate of Pay: $20.50/hrJob Summary:Dixie Bloor Neighbourhood Centre is a non-profit,charitable organization offering a wide variety ofprograms and services for residents of MississaugaEast. Its settlement team works closely with clientsand community partners to deliver quality andinnovative services that support settlement and theintegration of newcomers. The receptionist, as thefirst point of contact will be a key member of theoffice support team and will contribute towards thedelivery of its client centered settlement services.Responsibilities:- reveive and direct all incoming telephone calls andprovide information and referral- greet clients upon entry to Dixie BloorNeighbourhood Centre and introduce the servicesprovided, orient new clients- conduct eligibility screening and ensure appropratedocumentation- order office supplies and most requested forms andapplications- maintain office equipment including telephone andfax programming, copiers, printers and trouble-shootequipment malfuctions- coordinate incoming and outgoing mail as well ascourier pick-up- collect statistical records- conduct initial intake and needs assessments todrop-in clients, recruit participants and completeintake/assessment forms- participate in team meetings, staff meetings andcommittee meetings as required- assist staff and clients with case management andbriefing on services- provide back-up services to Settlement WorkersQualifications:- ability to continuously manage simultaneous tasks- high school diploma- working knowledge of Windows XP (Microsoft Outlook,and Excel)- knowledge of non-profit sector and issues affectingnewcomers- strong organizational skills, accuracy andconsistency of work a necessity- excellent oral and written communication skills- cultural sensitivity, mature judgment and goodconflict resolution skills- fluency in English, additional languages a bonusInterested applicants should submit a resume and coverletter by Feb. 6, 2008 to :Human Resources OfficerDixie Bloor Neigbourhood Centre1420 Burnhampthorpe Road East, Suite 315Mississauga, ONL4X 2Z9Fax: (905)629-0791Email: [email protected] those selected for an interview will becontacted.
