我是新移民，刚11月初登陆温哥华的。我比较幸运，我直接从上海可以transfer到加拿大的总部。当然后来老板让我选择去美国还是加拿大，我最后选择来美国工作。 我公司是PMC-Sierra, office 在Burnaby。 最近帮一个新移民朋友，也是技术牛人，成功推荐到我公司的Product Validation部门。考虑到帮助别的新移民朋友， 我查了一下公司内部网，发现本部门还有2个RD open positions， 我把招聘JD的简要贴在下面。新登陆的同学们如果觉得自己背景match，可以把简历发给我 [email protected]，我可以给你们做reference，并提供意见。1. Intermediate/Senior SOC Verification Engineer Division: Enterprise and Storage DivisionLocation: BurnabyThe Platform Architecture group within Product Development is responsible for defining the next-generation products to meet customer requirements. This involves the evaluation of the performance characteristics of the current generation products and defining architectural changes to both the firmware and hardware of our flagship RAID and IO controllers.One of our primary verification tool are our Cadence Palladium emulator systems for hardware/software co-verification, system-level verification and advanced debug. As a member of our team, you will use these state-of-the-art tools to advance the performance limits of our devices.Responsibilities:• Design, integration, and co-verification of digital integrated circuits for state-of-art System-On-Chip (SoC) devices with a specialized focus on the control plane (i.e. embedded processors, memory systems, and hardware/firmware interfaces).• Develop and execute co-verification test plans to verify all aspects of the control plane where hardware is captured in Verilog/VHDL and firmware is captured in C/Assembly.• Write and execute firmware diagnostic testcases according to the co-verification test plans to verify these complex hardware/firmware interactions. • Troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware/firmware interactions with the SoC architects.• Analyze SoC performance such as bandwidth and operations per second and feedback results into SoC architects.• Provide guidance and support to the Product Development teams leveraging our verification environments.• Communicate regularly with the design, verification, and firmware teams to resolve issues, communicate status and solve technical problems. Qualifications:• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree on Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering • 3 to over 7 years related experience.• Excellent analytical and debugging skills and the ability to proactively solve issues. • Excellent teamwork and time management skills and the ability to work under pressure. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.• Proven ability to learn and adapt to new methodologies and technologies.• Proficient in VHDL and/or Verilog.• Proficient in C and assembly for embedded devices/• Experience in designing, implementing, and verifying VHDL or Verilog based designs• Knowledge of MIPS architecture is preferred. • Experience with scripting languages such as Tcl/Tk or Perl.• Protocol knowledge and experience in storage protocols such PCIe, SAS, SATA, DDR, ONFI and/or Toggle will be an asset.• Working knowledge with verification tools such as Cadence NC-Sim, Paladium, or other similar tools. • Working knowledge of SoC design processes (design, verification, co-verification, implementation, layout) and flows.2. Sr. Storage Firmware Engineer Division: Enterprise and Storage DivisionLocation: Burnaby, BCAs a Senior Storage Firmware Engineer, you will join a team of professionals in developing exciting real-time firmware for state-of-art System-on-Chip (SoC) devices with embedded MIPS processors. Reporting to the Manager, Firmware Development, your responsibilities will include:Responsibilities:• Specification of features and architecture of firmware components for new products• Technically lead small teams in planning, design, and implementation, verification and tracking of firmware components• Design, development, integration, debugging, and verification of embedded firmware in C and Assembly• Product release and maintenance• Program embedded MIPS processors to implement core firmware/software subsystems.• Participate in detailed design and code reviews of implementations• Troubleshoot and resolve complex software problems in embedded real-time systems.• Analyze firmware performance (frame rates, cycle counts, cache utilization)• Write comprehensive engineering documentation.• Present technical information to small teams of engineers and technical marketing personnel.Qualifications: • BSEE or BS Computer Science/Math with emphasis in storage processing.• 7+ years of software/firmware system development for real-time streaming media systems, or demonstrated comparable experience.• Detailed working knowledge of firmware design and implementation.• Demonstrated ability to conceive, design, implement and document complex firmware systems.• Designer of embedded software systems. • Proficient programmer in C and assembly for embedded devices.• Knowledge of RTOS constructs including processes, threads, scheduling, synchronization mechanisms, memory management• Knowledgeable in use of tool chains and debug tools.• Effective communicator (verbal and written) of technical ideas. • Ability to plan work and lead product development team.• Willingness to set and meet deadlines.• Highly motivated, sets personal goals, and achieves goals without supervision.

想念亲人。多谢lz!!不过我不是engineer专业的，而是sales/Marketing专业毕业的，但是有semiconductor的8年相关经验。不知道是否可行啊。。。点击展开...呵呵，我也有将近八年的semiconductor经验，属于工程师的工作，但是不是版图设计工作，只能是说比较清楚如何让设计的产品有更高的良率。谢谢楼主的信息分享啊！
