[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]回复: 2010年 - 今年什么时候看枫叶?阿岗昆官方网站今天的报告: Percentage of color change: 10 - 19%Percentage of leaf fall: 0 - 9% 看来还不到时间... Report Date: Thursday September 16, 2010 Current Status Category:SLIGHT CHANGE Report Details:A small amount of fall colour change is becoming visible in the Sugar Maple canopy. A strong hint of the red and orange colours to come are visible, but still secondary to the overall green colour of the canopy. Fall colour change is increasing with each passing day. Individual trees that are subject to unusual stress (disease, damage, etc.) are changing colour early, as is normally the case. Many visitors have observed the early colour change and leaf fall of the White Birch (Betula papyrifera). The yellow-brown colour observed throughout the Highway 60 Corridor and over wide areas of the Park is likely caused by the Birch Skeletonizer (Bucculatrix canadensisella). The Birch Skeletonizer is native species of moth and is part of a natural cycle of insect outbreaks. This premature leaf fall of White Birch leaves can result in the slower growth for the trees affected but essentially no mortality is observed. The last large outbreak of Birch Skeletonizer in Algonquin Park was in September 2003. The peak of Algonquin Park fall colour watching season is expected in late September/early October. The peak fall colour is subject to numerous environmental variables such as daylight length, moisture, temperature, frost, wind, heavy rain, etc., so the exact peak of fall colour is difficult to determine. During the past 35+ years, the earliest peak recorded was September 15, 1982 and the latest October 9, 1996. The average peak of the Sugar Maple canopy in the western portion of the Highway 60 Corridor is September 27.
