If this is a philosophy you share, then please consider applying for this position.Job Purpose: The common purpose of all employees of the YWCA of Calgary includes a responsibility to carry out the Purpose and Mission Statement of the organization and a willingness to co-operate with other staff and volunteers in translating these emphases into programs and servicesYour Key Responsibilities will include: Facilitate ongoing training for both clinical & administrative staff involving multicultural and diversity issues; facilitate clinical and multicultural consultation for staff providing services for diverse/multicultural clients; develop information resources regarding specific diverse communities; facilitate language bank referrals within the Women’s, Men’s and Children’s programs ; screen and coordinate services to English as a second language clients; provide direct services to clients through group and individual counseling; provide support to other staff working with multicultural clients; make referrals to other agencies providing first language counseling and coordinate the linkages to original referring agency; provide Multicultural assessment in Risk Assessments, Intake procedures and Partner Check procedures; represent the YWCA Sheriff King Home on the Calgary Coalition and on the Advisory Committee of the CIAS Men’s Program; chair the multicultural/Diversity Committee to provide education, training and integration of these issues across the programs; provide group tracking for Women’s/Men’s Children’s Programs; provide one front line Shelter shift per week; provide evening clinical hours as needed; facilitate one treatment group in the Group Programs; and maintain a clinical caseload across programs as needed.Qualifications: Four years clinical experience with two years working with culturally diverse populations MSW or equivalent Knowledge of domestic violence issues and culturally diverse populations Knowledge and skill in crisis intervention and supportive counseling Proven ability working in multi-disciplinary organization Knowledge and experience with group work Good communications skills and organizational and multi-tasking abilities Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team Knowledge of community resources, particularly multi-cultural organizations and resources Ability to speak other languages is preferredPlease send cover letter and resume to:Jonathan McGregorManager, Adult Clinical ServicesYWCA of Calgary2003 ? 16 Street S.E.Calgary, AB T2G 5B7Fax: 403-262-1743Email: [email protected] Deadline: Open until suitable candidate is found
