尘埃落定往事如风回复: 哪有学游泳的地儿啊~cardle也不是私立的，是商家赞助，社区协会和市政府合办的，也有各种班。再说中国人里有几个低收入的，哪里方便去哪，哪里条件好去哪。 万一真是低收入群体，Cardle place也有给低收入的计划： Fee Assistance ProgramWhat is the Fee Assistance Program?The Fee Assistance Program was launched in 2005 in partnership with The City of Calgary to provide opportunities for low income families to experience the programs and services at Cardel Place.Who benefits?Since inception, 10,962 individuals have benefited from Cardel Place’s Fee Assistance Program. Applicants are Calgary residents with household incomes below Statistic Canada’s Low-Income Cutoff (LICO).What do qualified individuals and families receive?Applications for fee assistance are administered through The City of Calgary. Qualified individuals and families receive 50% off single admissions, passes and registered programs.Why is it important to ‘come out and play’ at Cardel Place?In today’s world, poverty knows no age ? individuals and families of all shapes and sizes are suffering from the long-term health effects, both physical and mental, brought on by financial stress. Adding play to one’s lifestyle can effectively reduce the stresses of everyday life and improve one’s overall health. At Cardel Place, our holistic approach to play means that our guests are laughing, jumping, sharing, talking and thinking their way to a happier, healthier life. Access to our programs and services connects our guests to other community members, positive role models, and a wide variety of spontaneous and structured activities that promote life skills, teamwork and lifestyle changes as opposed to the immediate gratification of a single workout or game.Why is this program expanding?Over the last three years the program has increased 51% (14%, 15% and 22.5% respectively). As the surrounding community grows, we expect to see a 25% increase per year in the number of people requiring fee assistance. Thousands of people have benefited from this program thus far, but many more need our help. To celebrate our fifth anniversary in 2009 we are giving back to the community by expanding the Fee Assistance Program to ensure everyone has not only the right, but the opportunity to ‘come out and play.’Why fee assistance? Why now?Even before these difficult economic times, we saw a demand for financial assistance in north central Calgary. In 2001, 10% of Cardel Place’s catchment area was living in households with income below Statistic Canada’s Low-Income Cutoff (LICO). Now, more than ever before, individuals and families need access to places and spaces to play together, reduce stress and build healthy lifestyles.How much will the program expand? And when?To further enrich and empower the lives of low income individuals and families in north central Calgary we are proposing to grow our Fee Assistance Program 25% per year over the next three years. It is expected that this expansion will provide approximately 11,000 more individuals access to the programs and services at Cardel Place. ​
