我孩子现在五年级，才从法语转学英语，现在上的小学没有专门的ESL班或课程，只是老师安排个英语不错的亚裔学生和他同桌，承担翻译指导的作用。不知道卡城小学是不是都这样？！

English language learnersThe Admissions Office is located at Kingsland Centre (7430 - 5 Street S.W.) Kingsland Centre is open year-round. Many families arrive during the summer, so it is important to make an appointment as soon as possible. To book an appointment, please call 403-777-7373 (ext. 1). Directions to Kingsland Centre To register, you will need to provide legal proof of your child’s name, date of birth, and citizenship status in Canada. The following documents are acceptable: Permanent resident card or Confirmation of Permanent Residence or Record of Landing Parent’s valid Work Permit or Study Permit Student’s Study Permit (International students) If you are on a work or study permit you will need to bring your child’s birth certificate. You will also need to bring information that confirms your address. If you are on a Study Permit, inquire about additional documentation required. Students with another language in the home are required to take an English language assessment to determine whether extra support for learning English is required. The assessment appointments can take up to two and a half hours to complete.

126 $0.00 回复: 卡尔加里的小学有ESL吗？ESL CENTRES :Annie Gale, Connaught, Ernest Morrow, Forest Lawn, Henry Wise Wood, James Fowler, Mount Royal, Senator Patrick Burns, Terry Fox, and Woodman ESL Centres offer transition newcomer programs for Level 1 (limited formal schooling) ESL students, grades 7-12. Criteria are available which describe the students who would be most suitable for these short-term system classes. ESL Centre on Inquiry is located at Tom Baines. The centre offers professional learning support to all the schools in Area I to research and explore differentiated instruction and modification for ESL learners, assessment and reporting, responsive programming and culturally inclusive pedagogy. The primary focus of the Centre is to work directly with teachers to develop resources and instructional strategies to increase cognitive academic language proficiency in ESL students to promote their success across all subject areas. The CBE is working toward opening the Connaught ESL Teaching and Learning Centre. The centre will be the hub for all the ESL Centres and the future home of the ESL team. Transition newcomer programs for Level 1 (limited formal schooling) students grades 4-9 will augment their regular ESL programs. Pre-service and In-service opportunities for teacher learning will also be available through the Connaught center. In time, all ESL services will be coordinated out of this ESL centre. 回复: 卡尔加里的小学有ESL吗？个人建议你考虑University Elementary School， 靠近UC，是各国访问学者，postdoc的聚集地，国际小留学生比较多，学校对ESL 学生照顾相对好一些。
