Hi everyone, I received an offer from Federal Government yesterday. $65,000/Y. However, Ottawa will send me to Regina (Saskachewan) to work with provincial government. I really like the job but the location is not what I expect. I am hesitating to take it indeed. Right now, I am working for a local health govenment in Toronto, contract, $20/h, no profit. There is little opportunity to transfer to permanent status but I can work some time there. I am still single but have a bf whom I can marry. He disagrees with me to take the job. Because It is impposible for him to go Saskachewan with me since he has a great job in Toronto, meanwhile, Saskachewan has a horrible weather. He think I can find a good job here sooner or latter. So, If I take the job, I will lose him. Atually, I am worried about the weather too. However, If I give up the job, It is very difficult for me to find another one again. After all, I am new immigrant without any local education and just a bit local experience. Plus English gap which is my biggest issue currently. Also, I really like it. This job is exact what I had done in China. I am trying to balance all aspects. But I realized it was too difficult. So I am here for help. It will be much appreciated if you guys can give me some ideas, suggestions. By the way, I cannot type in Chinese right now. Please do not judge my English. I know it is very horrible. However, It is improving. Thanks!

回复: Federal government job, Regina, Saskachewan, Take it or not?我现在就在regina，其实regina不像人们想象得那么差，可能生活或单调一点，毕竟城市小，但给我的感觉就是一个美国中部城市的影子，很安静。另外，这里的白人对华人很友善，很愿意倾听，这里到处都在招人，如果你能来拿到联邦政府的工作offer的话，在这里找25块钱一小时地工作应该不难，而且这边生活费用比起ontario低一点，税率的话也低一点~你自己衡量吧~不过冬天的确冷，呆在房子不能出去会很郁闷~
