Total Recall, acted by Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sharon Stone, is a science fiction film with fantastic story. The hero of the story, Quaid, a builder of a construction company, lived contentedly with his wife Lori in the earth. But when he went into a high tech travell agency RECALL to make a computer embeded emulating travell to Mars, the calmness of his living were broken. As the fact was revealed gradually, Quaid was confused with his real identity. His colleagues in company tryed to kill him and his sweet heart wife Lori became a secrete agent of Mars acting against him. He can't understand all of these because he found someone eased his total memery by high tech. Along with the clue, Quaid went to Mars and found he was also a secrete agent of the Mars' dictator Cohaagen. When he betrayed Cohaagen and began to help the rebel, Cohaagen earsed him memery and sent him to earth. Quaid attached rebel and met their leader Kuato. Quaid pleased Kuato using his superhuman ability to recover his memery. So they had a dialogue bellow: Kuato: What do you want, Mr.Quaid?Quaid: Same as you: to remember.Kuato: But why?Quaid: To be myself again.Kuato: You are what you do. A man is defined by his actions, not his memory. At the end of the story, the facts were fully revealed---Quaid really was a Kohaagen's secrete agent and good friend Hauser. They together polted this vicious scheme that eased Hauser's memery to disguise him and infiltrate the rebel to kill Kuato. When his mission completed, Kohaagen ordered him embeded back his original memery and come back to Hauser, but Quaid refused and killed him finally. He has really become into Quaid, a member of the rebel, no longer the jackal of the dictatorship. Some times I saw some guyes crying their failure and unhappiness in Canada and induldged in their lated "success" such as big house, luxury car and good salary and "honorable" status in China. I think why won't we try to convert our thinking and cheer ourself up? Let's review the bright idea, or value in film--- A man is defined by his actions, not his memory.
