SYSTEMS ENGINEER (LEVEL 3) REPORTS TO: Reports directly to the Operations ManagerPOSITION HOURS: 8AM ? 5PMEDUCATION: HIGH SCHOOL AND/OR POST SECONDARYLOCATION: EDMONTON, ALBERTA, CANADADURATION: CONTRACT OR PERMANENTSALARY RANGE: Compensation will be commensurate with experience, but overall compensation will be results-based and goal-oriented. RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THIS POSITION:• Provide tier 2-3 support for network issues for technologies such as but not limited to:o Microsoft Windows NT 4.0, 2000, XP, 2003o Microsoft Exchange 5.5, 2000, 2003o Microsoft SQL Server 7, 2000o Microsoft SMS 2, 2003o Microsoft Operations Managero VMWare Virtual Server solutionso Linux based operating systemso Sun Solaris operating systemso Advanced level and hands-on knowledge of Cisco IOS, VoIP, and security knowledge and configuration experience• Provide network solutions and recommendations to customer inquires regarding Anti-Virus, Email & Collaboration, Network Security, Migration Strategy, Disaster Recovery…etc.• Proper and detailed documentation of all support and project related calls• Administration, architecting, and technical support experience on the Microsoft Windowsplatform, Microsoft Exchange 5.5 ? 2003 platform, Citrix Metaframe platform, MicrosoftSMS platform, Microsoft IIS platform, Microsoft DNS and Microsoft Active Directory…etc.• Advanced Cisco routing and switching and/or firewall configurations SKILL REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION:• 5 ? 8 years hands-on IT experience• Excellent written and verbal skills• Ability to work in a team environment• Excellent organization skills with detail AND accuracy• Excellent documentation skills with detail AND accuracy• Certification should include some or all of the following:o Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP)o Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)o Cisco Certified Internetworking Professional (CCIP)o Cisco Certified Security Professional (CCSP)o Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (Windows 2000 or Windows 2003)o Citrix Certified Enterprise Administrator (CCEA)o Any other professional certification designations are a bonus• Ability to multi-task and manage multiple medium sized projects• Ability to understand and deliver high quality customer service• Advanced TCP/IP and internetworking protocol knowledge• Experience in IT operations and an actively contributing team member in project based work• Advanced technical and hands-on expertise in Microsoft Windows-based migration projects in 800-1500 seat size of multiple domain, sites, and active directory.• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Group Policy, DFS, Windows Security, Virtual Server, SharePoint Server, Exchange Server 5.5, 2000, and 2005• Have 4+ years of network design experience• Have led medium to large sized projects• A valid Alberta driver’s license is mandatory• Clean enhanced criminal record abstract Bring your knowledge and expertise to our team and contribute significantly to our fast growingcompany.
