10月22日，圣盖博一家餐馆因蟑螂丶苍蝇和没有按规定储存汤而被停业整顿。

10月22日，周二，洛杉矶县公共卫生部门的一名检查员突击检查了一家位于圣盖博超市的中餐馆San Gabriel Yum Cha Cafe，地址为1635 S. San Gabriel Blvd. No. 4。

在向县政府提交的一份报告中，检查员指出在餐馆内发现了以下不应该出现的东西:

在储存食物容器后面的墙上爬着至少八只若虫蟑螂和4只成年大蟑螂。还有一只大个儿活蟑螂在厨房入口附近的地板上爬行。在散装食品容器后面和上面的墙壁上有很多蟑螂粪便斑点。整个厨房里有至少4只苍蝇

刚被这一家子蟑螂给恶心到，检查员又发现了一口大锅——大约3英尺X4英尺——锅里是满满当当的肉汤，都超过了烹饪线，这一锅肉汤在90分钟之内温度才降到了108华氏度，但是根据卫生规范，像这样的食物必须在2小时内迅速从135华氏度冷却到70华氏度，然后在4小时内通过卫生安全的方法从70华氏度冷却到41华氏度。

这家得分为81分的餐厅被关闭。10月24日，卫生部门对这家餐馆进行了重新检查，合格后获得重新营业的许可。

当地的餐厅就像学校一样，有相应的评分标准。如果餐馆因在食品设施中发现蟑螂丶老鼠丶苍蝇以及因污水排放不合标准被处罚，那么餐馆除了因严重违反健康规定而被扣4分外，还将再被扣7分。只要观察到两种有关健康危害的现象，如不安全的食品温度，该餐馆就会在检查分数中再失去3分。

在食品安全检查中一经发现不合格的地方，餐馆必须立刻关闭，直到在下一次检查中修正这些错误，才可以重新开业。在卫生局的例行检查丶业主发起的检查丶客户投诉调查和复查期间，这些餐馆都可能会被关闭。

除了上述餐馆，卫生局的检查人员还发现了很多餐馆有不合格的卫生状况，这些餐馆均在10月20日至26日期间暂时关闭。
