警方呼吁所在地区民众就近躲避，不要靠近嫌犯，一旦发现嫌犯立即拨打911。
目前，嫌犯迈尔斯·桑德森（Myles Sanderson）仍在逃。

不过，警方最新表示经过进一步调查后，加拿大皇家骑警确定他不在James Smith Cree Nation社区。
警方表示由于迈尔斯·桑德森下落不明，整个萨省的紧急警报都处于活跃状态，警方敦促该省民众采取适当的预防措施。
