Provincial police say the driver was behind the wheel of her bus when she proceeded to pass the other school bus, which had its red lights on and its stop-arm extended. The alleged incident occurred in Nipissing Township, south of North Bay, Ont., last week. Police say the stopped bus was preparing to pick up children. As a result of the investigation, 46-year-old Wendy Restoule of Powassan, Ont., was charged with failing to stop for a school bus. Violators can face fines of up to $2,000 and six demerit points.
