Branksome Hall is an independent school for girls in Toronto from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 12. Our International Baccalaureate Program’s emphasis on inquiry-based learning better prepares young women to face the challenges and opportunities of our ever-changing world. Our graduates are welcome by stellar universities and colleges across Canada and around the world. Working under the direction of the Help Desk Supervisor, this position is responsible for courteous, rapid and effective hardware and software support to technology users in the school. In addition, this position is responsible for support for audio/video and multimedia equipment for school events, and will involve some occasional time in evenings and on weekends. The hours for this position are 9:00 am to 5:00 pm daily. The candidate will function as an active member of the school’s IT team. This is a one year, full-time contract position. Key responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:・ Member of our Help Desk team providing support across the campus for both software and hardware. This involves both verbal and written communication and onsite support.・ Ensure issues are properly documented, tracked, and if necessary, escalated to the appropriate level・ Assist with the inventory, maintenance and warranty of computer peripherals and drivers associated with them (scanners, digital cameras, camcorders, LCD projectors, etc.)・ Repair simple hardware faults (locked computers, printer jams, wireless issues) ・ Troubleshoot IT related issues for tablet laptops and desktops・ Assist in deploying software using applications such as Windows Deployment Server (WDS)・ Move computers, peripherals and audio/video equipment as required・ Manage, set up and support the use of data projection for staff and students・ Provide back-up support to other members of the IT Department・ Research technology, and maintain current knowledge of hardware and software・ Set up and manage audio/visual and multimedia equipment and configure network devices when required Qualifications include: ・ Community college program certification or university degree ・ Software: Windows XP and 7, Microsoft Office Suite, WDS, System Drivers, DLL’s・ Hardware: Build/maintain Intel based computers; understand motherboards, CPU, hard drives, printers with Ethernet cards, wireless hardware, access points, scanners, digital cameras, audio mixing boards, amplifiers, LCD/Data projectors ・ A high level of interaction with all faculty and staff and various interactions with students, parents and vendors・ Involved in research for procurement of IT equipment/maintains office and storeroom/generates documents such as instruction manuals・ Involved in the development of policies for special events and equipment management・ Supervises temporary staff and vendors/occasionally students and volunteer supervision・ Provides reports on existing hardware, software, printer supplies and procurement of equipment/monitors returns and repairs・ Suggests streamline workflow for hardware and software management The school offers a competitive compensation package.
