Only the new funds transferred into the high rate savings account after the offer starting date could get the bonus rate, quoted from the webpage (New Deposits is the lower amount of the increase in Total Deposits (all your deposit accounts under the same Customer Account Number with HSBC Bank Canada) and increase in High Rate Savings Account Balance.).And most importantly, the interest rate depends on how much new deposits you have made:$0 to 24,999 is 2.8%; $25,000 to 49,999 is 3.35%; $50,000 to 99,999 is 3.40% and $100,000 and over is 3.5%.Hope the above clarification helps.
