I'm a IC sales. There's many inquiry from B2B every day. And there's few replys after we quote. I know this's normal. But what don't know how to deal with is that, the the first reply email from the potential always just one sentence," sorry dear, but your price's much dear". Sometimes I take it as a signal of the cooperation intention. But all I can say him or her is that the price we offer had almost reach the bottem line. And ask about their target price. And of course, always there's no further infirmation from them.Problem is, I don't know what should I say in the follow up email. Please give me some advice. Thanks.

I think your situation is much better than me! Once i quote to my potential clients. They do not feedback to me any more. Even do not tell me our price is higher。

May be what womanghost said do reasonable and workable in some other fields. But For electronics components, the price is transparent. And the buyers, they know exactly what the price of the specific parts they are looking for. They give us the part number, the brand and the package,ect. Problem is I can not tell why our price's higher. Sometimes I say that because our parts are new and original, may be others's not original so their price's lower. But this's sound like kind of slander. It could leave bad impression on him.

i'm sure i have the same kind of feeing with you,every tiime i send my quotation to one client,he said nothing about it,just ask me to make another quotation,and sometimes i contine to ask how it is going with older offers,he replied there was no news from his customers.at that moment,i want very very much to ask my boos,could you make best price for this potential client,but in vain.
ok,i will cope with this situation...actually,it's a kind of comfort....

I don't think the buyer have time to tell every supplier what's wrong with the offer,so do us.

把你的报价单弄得好看点,专业一点就好了。用Excell表格排好点,要是能转成PDF格式的就更好了。
我的报价基本上客户都会回,虽然都是说your price is way to high
如果自己对价格构成不了解也没关系,像我一般会对客户说我们稍微改一下材料这样价格就可以降一点,然后对我们经理说客户说要改材料再报价看看, :lol

但是我们卖的IC电子元器件,都是市场现货,非定做的。我们的性质是代理商或是说中介之类的。IC市场价格很透明的,真不知道怎么跟踪,客户主要看价格便宜不,而且不是便宜得一看就是假货,他们才开始跟我们谈下一步的。

i think they are not potential customer,i also meet some customer like this someday.
another reason is that the price market is transparent now(B2B make a key role), so that lead to cutthroat competition

crazy me. But some of them are our customers althought just cooperate once. And then they keep on saying sorry too high, or just no reply. But what made me feel conciliative is that I do have some customers beginning with myself. And we become very good friends now. One of them said to me, you can contact me for any times. I'm not just saying it, but I do mean it. And there's one said "when ever you would like to talk just send me message to call you .I would always like to conversate with you my friend at any time.“ Although no PO for me very often, I'm so happy for what I have got.
May be other fields in foriegn trade are hard also.
