a few hours before leaving kong kong, let me take a bit of your time to tell you a story...
We arrived in Hong Kong 3 years ago and since that date, time has gone so fast that I could even describe in details our first days in Hong Kong
in August 2009, after we landed and went out from airport and almost suffocated because of the heat... it is like yesterday -
My son, decided immediately that he will go back to France and the following days, he spent his whole time in bed without saying a word except
"I wanna go back home, I cannot breathe, I have no friends....bla bla" -
the gap was so huge compared to where we used to live in France... big house, quiet and green countryside.... fields and cows...
(those of you who have got the chance to visit Villeneuve sur Lot can easily understand what I mean!!)
On her side, at once my daughter really liked hong kong and told me that she will make a living here... she was really excited and wanted to try
everything, go everywhere, pushed me to take all the trams according to their colors (and we frequently got lost... )
around 2 weeks after our arrival, we celebrated her 11th anniversary and she invited around 20 friends... coming from where??..
My eldest son who joined us later, fell in love with hong kong instantly and today he is still in love with hk and definitively with Asian countries...
Michel's daughter took advantage of our location in hong kong to make a big trip around Asia and used this experience as an inspiration for her studies.
At that time, Michel was already doing his round trips between Hong kong and France... and he never stopped until now (you remember Superman...!)
On my side I focussed on the kids and my job, try to adapt myself on this new style of life and Michel's absences.... every week end I organized tight
schedules to visit as many places as we could....
Kids acquired more and more independance and a few months after our arrival they felt here like at home, they learnt english very fast and made a lot
of good friends, beeing always busy... I saw them becoming more open minded and changing in a positive way.
We all got used to hong kong and started or continued to appreciate it very much, its people, environnement, safety, diversity...
except for few things we have never got used to such as..........
Durian (the worst thing I have ever smelt in my life) , Air cond (the warmer it is outside, the colder inside...) , Crazy taxi drivers!!
, freshbut this is so few compared to all the great things that were part of our everyday life, sunny weather, local markets ginger, juicy fruits, foot massage, hiking on hk hills,
cheap restaurants, coloured trams, shopping centers, beaches and warm sea, amazing towers, old people practising Tai Chi in parks... !!
all this good energy and simple things that made the difference.
"everything is easy here, you can go out anytime, whatever you need you ll find and even more , nothing bad will happen to you.. "
that's how we could resume the feeling we have had and continue to have ...
This private side of my life was so important for the sucess of my job here..
and I can say it was successfull thanks to the hardwork and good willing of each of you, we have put together our skills, organised the good working
of 3 offices, managed to handle the growing turnover, improved our performances, made the team stable and professional, performed our relationship
with french teams, increased our productivity, adapted to new tools...
We met difficulties and easier time, we faced issues all together trying to keep professional in a friendly atmosphere..
I thank you very much for your support and I rely on you to continue and do even better for XX
It was a great pleasure for me to collaborate with you, some of you were close to me, for some of you I didn't have many contacts but
finaly I will miss you all, and I will miss hong kong so much..
I am leaving now but part of my heart still belongs to this place.
I wish you all the best and dont forget to give some news...
