Growing Kashrus Presence in China Focus of New Yorker ArticleNew York…China has emerged as a key component in the remarkable worldwide success story of kosher. Some 1500 companies have taken the important step of obtaining kosher certification. The China story is so intriguing that none other than The New Yorker in its January 5th issue devoted a major feature: “Letter from China – Kosher Takeout – The inspection business booms.” Patricia Marx, the author of the story, actually joined Rabbi Mordechai Grunberg of the Orthodox Union and Rabbi David Moskowitz of the Shatz Kosher Services, based in Israel, as they visited several plants throughout China. She noted that some 50 mashgichim crisscross China in what has become a focal point for many of the large kashrus agencies, including the Orthodox Union, Star-K and OK Kosher Certification. In addition to China, many of the agencies certify plants in many other countries in Southeast Asia. An estimated $350 billion of ingredient products sold in the U.S. are kosher certified, nearly 70% of all ingredients sold. The major reason for this phenomenon is that most large food manufacturing plants in the country are kosher certified and require kosher ingredients. A major concern for kashrus agencies in China is the recent safety issues that have injured and killed civilians eating foods laced with melamine that were produced in China. Kashrus organizations are discussing instituting new procedures that will require Chinese companies to produce proof of adherence to strict safety guidelines.

在中国,kosher的发展情况是如此有趣而隐秘，以致于只有《纽约人》在其1月5号的刊物中专门讨论了其一个主要的特征:"中国现象– Kosher 外卖–验货行业兴起"。实际上，该文章的作者Patricia Marx与总部在以色列的the Orthodox Union的Rabbi Mordechai Grunberg 及Shatz Kosher Services的Rabbi David Moskowitz 一起参观了多家中国工厂。
intriguing 一般意思为“有趣的，吸引人的”，也有“秘密”之意，后文跟的是"none other than",如果是“有趣”为什么只有“the new yorker”报导呢??

（AKO是全球权威kosher认证的形成的组织，该机构成员颁发的证书被全球广泛认可，而非AKO成员机构，一是机构比较小，这个不是自己说自己大就大的；二是非成员颁发的证书的可信度很低，权威性很低，很多的机构也不认可）

原先国内有2家非AKO 成员的kosher机构，一家撑不下去了，就走人了；现在国内仅仅剩下一家非AKO成员的kosher机构，
还在竭-力说服企业，什么低价啊，什么权威性一样啊----------
所以还是要多问问，多打听打听，也不晚。

吃一堑，长一智，走过路过，不要错过以色列Kosher认证出问题
出口国家：以色列
出口产品：食品
结汇情况：全款已收起
具体情况：跟客户洽谈了一个新订单，洽谈过程中，以色列客户说工厂要有Kosher认证才可以，于是问工厂有没有Kosher，工厂说没有那个证书，但是虽没有证书，但是一直在朝以色列出货。于是跟工厂再三确认没有Kosher证书是不是能出货，工厂也再三确认说自己已经出了很多次了，都没问题。
于是乎，客户同意了暂时不要证书，回头安排Rabbi去验厂。后来因为一些原因，Rabbi没能来验厂，客户也就索性同意直接发货。
货到以色列，客户完成情关，准备销售，原以为什么事都没有，可是这时候偏偏出了大乱子。
客户那边说货被当地警察查封了，因为没有KOSHER认证，禁止销售。
客户说货物现在放在警察指定的仓库，每天都要付仓储费，而且因为没有Kosher证书，客户要求把货退回。
并要索赔全部损失。
如何是好？各位大侠，请指教！
现在真后悔当时没花钱把这个证书给办了……
