I have several years IT work experience on database development and data modeling, sometimes working as Oracle DBA in development projects. However, as soon as I read the job descriptions of those IT positions in Canada, I have been shocked, because of such many skills being asked to supply. It is really impossible to match even in 80 percent of all. Hence, I wonder how our people who have been working as IT guys face this problem. I am very appreciated of your answers.

天行健，君子当自强不息。 超赞 赏 S solomon 0$(VIP 0) 1,5442007-04-09#7 回复: About the job descriptions of IT positions我觉得有50%MATCH了就可以试试了，反正投个简历又不费个事，别被上面的要求吓倒了。什么都要一条一条往那些条件去套，不到8，90不敢去应聘，啥时才能找到工作？ 能做的全的就做的不精，你某方面做精了肯定不能做全，有如上面这个DBA，如果专门搞ORACLE的话，里面的东西你一辈子都也许搞不完，那已不是个技术，而是门艺术了。 我反正见过周围搞ORACLE DBA的朋友，一般不会去做DTS/SSIS,要说做也是做个皮毛，因为人的精力有限，再加上现在是团队，大家分工做项目，你啥都会了，别人还吃饭不？ 也会有例外，但绝对是少数。 俺还没找到工作，说的不一定对。

回复: About the job descriptions of IT positions我在多伦多找工作时认识一个好朋友，也是oracle dba，年轻开朗，语言也不差。我们那时候是一起上workshop的，后来我来温哥华以后大概几个月之后听说他也找到contract了。给楼主鼓励一下，找工就是运气加语言，技术谁都没有问题，比西人强多了。
