A Gift from God I got news … I got two phone calls from head hunters almost at the same times last week. It’s all come from a sudden. I consider it’s a gift from God giving me an opportunity to move out of Shanghai, after living here more than 3 years. I have been working with this current company for 10 years. I wish to take the next step, to begin my second phase of my careers, which will be having a big involvement in general management. Alhamdulilah, I still got jobs at this moment and do not suffer from hunger. May I achieve my wish to play a greater role in general management. May I built a team that is harmonised, dynamic and provide a better life to the team members. May the Almighty bless my effort and sincerity. Ya Allah! There is no limit to your Grace. Protect me from the danger and having my peaceful life. I forever seek Your blessings, "Toward Excellent Roles in My Careers"

I stayed at the service apartment and dare not having the chances to travel around. To be honest, I have nothing to tell you in the past. One year later, the company decided to move me to Shanghai for the construction works.I have finally arrived Shanghai for a 2-years assignment in 2004. The first Shanghai night before my eyes is impressed. The first night, my colleages brought me to a bar street at MaoMingLu and saying to me: Ben, I know you have been working in Bangkok, and enjoying the NaNa Plaza and Cowboy Town so much. In Shanghai, we named it MaoMingLu and JuLu Lu. Relax and enjoy your first night in Shanghai.At the end, I end out to rent an apartment close to MaoMingLu ~~

Thankfully it seems that I have caught him in the right time. Christopher told me he had confirmed to the company for the revised packages of transferring to Business Development Department. It’s really sad to hear that Christopher had being interviewing by a couple of MNCs but it turn him down saying his requested package could employ a “lao wai”.I have dropped an interview offer yesterday, as the company budgeted salary packaged not meets to my requirement. No surprising to me that the company wishes to employ a “low cost professional”. My boss had come to site yesterday. I told him that I have been working with this current company for 10 years. May be this is the times to change my career. I told him I have sent out 4 CV to 4 different countries ? China, Singapore, Malaysia and Australia. Thanks God! Two has replied me with the positive answers.To be honest, my work budget would be run out in June. And I still do not know where is my next station for 2-3 years. The life of a vagabond is not easy, although I might feel that this is an adventure. I would be appreciate that my boss also travel in his entire life, the fructuating that I have he fully understand and appreciate. I would be flying tomorrow late evening for attending an interview on Monday. I require to refresh my memory for not being fumble when ask about current employment for these few days. I understand that I could work with my current employer for the entire life. May be I l have lost both the passion and interest on the current assignment. I know that the current Shanghai assignment is not the life I want to be. I really need to find a quiet night, and having a black coffee to ask myself and finding myself for the value of living in Shanghai~~

I forever seek Your blessings, "Toward Excellent Roles in My Careers"点击展开... 10years is a sensitive phase for one's career,you may find that you become a senior professional in you area some day when you wake up,there are tow choices before you,one is to continue the speciality till becoming a sophiscated professinal,the other may be to transfer to management , both are challenging you.Contiuning the specialty requests you to learn more updated technologies to meet with the new trend,but after a certin time working(10years),we have formed lazy learning habits with the excuse of busy work,on the other hand,management is a brand new job ,it is totally different from previous professional work,so it is a big challenge for you to confront it,such situtions may be called "bottle-neck" in the career. Some of my friends with same experiences just quit their job and give themselves sometime to think it over carefully how to take the next step,some choose to go abroad to studay a new subject which interests them and plan to join a new field after studay,one of my friend is going to Singapore this autum to study "tourism and hotel management" after woking in construction field for 10 years ,he is interested in it and believe that the tourism will be more prosperouse in Shanghhai in the near future.
