我想要保住自己原来的职位,所以决定缩短我的产假,比如8个月,同时我公司目前情况不好,如果我先休息8个月并领取了8个月的EI,然后回去上班,但是公司倒闭了,或者将我layoff了,这时候我从回去上班到失业还没有6个月,这时我可以申请再将未休完的4个月产假继续休完并领取产假EI吗?本人家庭经济情况不好,如果不是因为一个的工资无法支持家用,也不会提前回去,想多陪陪小孩,同时,希望能继续领4个月的产假EI也是希望给自己一个缓冲的机会,不至于压力很大的找工作。希望知道具体规定的朋友给予指点,谢谢!

不可以。你既然上班了,产假就是结束了,如果再次被layoff的时候工作时间不够,是没有资格领EI的。

产假EI可以中断。。但是前提是孩子出生后52周的时间段没有过期。If one spouse decides to return to work after taking a few weeks of parental leave, but then realizes a few weeks later that he or she would prefer to stay home with the child, he or she is still entitled to the unused weeks of parental benefits, as long as the 52-week period after the birth or adoption placement has not expired.
