而且BC省府維多利亞市已經決定取消加拿大日的各種活動了，包括原定的虛擬慶祝活動，當然這是因為Kamloops寄宿學校發現兒童骸骨事件，因此取消各種加拿大日的慶祝，以紀念此次不幸事件。

而且不少人在網上呼吁取消相關慶祝活動，原住民組織Idle No More則計劃於加拿大日在全國各地舉行多個集會。
