福特發言人Ivana Yelich在周二早上的一份聲明中說：“昨晚，一名手持大屠刀的男子出現在省長家，並大喊威脅。”

福特本人尚未對此事公開發表評論，但Yelich表示，省長很感謝 OPP 警員的幫忙。
