（综合）周六，南太平洋岛国汤加（Tonga）附近的一座海底火山大喷发，引发汤加附近发生 7.4 级地震，大浪也席卷了南太平洋岛屿的海岸。

最新报道称火山引发的高达数英尺高的海啸之前，整个南太平洋都听到了爆炸声，据称斐济和瓦努阿图的岛链都会受袭击。
