（九爱加拿大網綜合）據DailyHive報道，溫哥華煤氣鎮（Gastown）標志性雕像Gassy Jack在今年2月中被推倒並潑紅油漆後，已被拆除，並且沒有再重置的計劃。事實上，雕像底座也將被移除。
4月4日周一，溫哥華市府在推特上發布提醒，工作人員會在周一早上將雕像底座移除。至於未來原雕像的位置和楓樹廣場（Maple Tree Square ）將如何規劃，會通過與社區和斯闊米什原住民（Squamish Nation）共同協商決定。

今年2月14日，第31屆婦女紀念游行（31st annual Women's Memorial March）在溫市中心東區舉行，以紀念被謀殺及失蹤的原住民婦女和兒童。
部分參與游行的示威者，將溫哥華煤氣鎮非常著名的Gassy Jack雕像推倒並被潑滿紅油漆。雕像被移走後底座就一直空在那裡。
