D/P有两种，一个是即期付款交单，一个是远期付款交单，区别是你开立的汇票不一样而已，值得注意的是尽量不要采用远期，因为这样易被进口商操作成D/A到时就有很大的风险了，因为他可以向银行提供个保函就能借单了、

Say something about the D/P(sight and usance) :
In a documents against payment collection transaction, a seller ships goods to a buyer and routes the title documents through a collecting bank along with a draft that is payable by the buyer at sight (sight draft), or at a fixed date in the future (usance draft). The collecting bank can be either the seller's bank (standard collection) or a correspondent of the seller's bank in the buyer's country (direct collection). Exporters that want to speed up the flow of their documents generally use direct collections rather than standard collections, because the use of a standard collection almost certainly guarantees a delay in collection processing time in that the seller's bank must forward the documents it receives to its correspondent in the buyer's country for presentation to the buyer. When the collecting bank in the buyer's country receives the collection documents, it contacts the buyer and advises the buyer that: (a) it has received the title documents for a particular transaction; and (b) these documents will be released to the buyer only when the buyer pays the draft that accompanies the collection documents by authorizing a transfer of funds to the seller's bank.

D/P and D/A are the business called as documentary collection.
D/P=documents against payment , collecting bank hands over the shipping documents only when the importer has paid the bill.
D/A=documents against acceptance, exporter is allowing credit terms to the importer who is required to accept the bill to pay at a set date in the future, and then takes the documents.
Quite clear that D/A is riskier than D/P. Why? mainly due to the following :
1)importer can take the documents to clear the goods by just accepting the bill, and thus the exporter loses control of documents and the goods.
2)on the due date importer might refuse to pay because of the possibilities that he finds the goods are not what he ordered, he has not been able to sell the goods or he is prepared to cheat the exporter,etc.
3)importer might have gone bankrupt.
