How to find the right suppliers in ChinaJerryljh
Finding the right suppliers is critical when establishing and operating a successful business. When we have a new project to source products, firstly we need to understand the products for example the specs, usage, export experiences, main producing areas, the material, how other buys buy this product and so on, and then start to look for factories .We can find factories from the following ways:
1 Websites
We can search suppliers and main information according to our requirements from different websites like:
www.alibaba.com;
www.made-in-china.com;
win.mofcom.gov.cn;
www.ec21.com;
www.globalsources.com;
www.baidu.com;
www.google.com;
ebusiness.cantonfair.org.cn
Other business accession association websites.
2 Industry Associations
We also can learn more information about the products in the specific industry from the industry association and other similar businesses organizations, government. Contact relevant industry association to obtain information. Such as the China glass Association, China Association of Decorative Building Materials, China customs, China Ministry of Commerce. China Hardware Association, China Furniture Association, China Real Estate Association and so on.
3 Publication
The publication of some business association, the monthly or yearly reports, some business magazine or newspaper .Such as the Globalsources’s free magazine, the China custom import or export report, the Association report and so on. We can find which products are more popular in USA, mid east. A good way to locate suppliers such as manufacturers or wholesalers is to conduct a search using Yellow Pages, such as Foshan city yellow page, lot of factory information in it.
4 Fair or expo
Lots of the expos and fair are held in China today, such as the Canton fair, Fenestration China expo, China Int’l Interior Decoration EXPO, we can learn information from www.expo-china.com. Suggest put the fair schedule related to our projects on a share dive of our computer then everyone could mark on the list and keep a reminder for the related trade shows.
5 Advertisement
Advertisement is a very useful way to find the right factories, such as CCTV, Express way, Airport famous business magazine. Such as CCTV2, China economical channel, we can watch a lots China top brand products advertisements, being one of the China top brands or national free test is honorable for companies, a company is listed in top brands, them produce quality, service, delivery time and capacity should be better normally. Also they price may be higher.
6 Factories
Learn more information from small factories. The small factories are always long for our order, the will be more friendly and tell us a lot of information. If they can’t make our products, we can ask them to recommend some big factories which can made. Take brains from them. If we need the related products or fittings or accessories, we can also ask them to recommend their cooperate companies ,such as the glass door ,include the glass and the aluminum frames .if we find one factory can make the glass but door frames ,we can ask them to recommend the frames factory for us.
7 Real customers
We may try to find some people who are using the products we are looking for. Some of them might be the experts. They may be able to introduce some trusted brand to us.
8. Friends:
There might be some of our friends who is an expert of the products we wanted. It is a good ideal to ask them and get some advance from them.
9. Supermarket:
Sometimes, we can learn a lot of information from the retailer. Go to the market, for example, the construction material market, see the real products, and talk to salesman. That will be helpful when we cannot find more useful information from other channels.
I think in Canton ,Zhejiang ,Fujian ,Jiangsu,Shandong, Shanghai there are more factories and they have advanced machines ,technology management and export experience .And then choose some big factories in above areas, we will need to consider issues such as : the price, minimum order quantity ,trading term , package, transportation, shipping ,quality control information. Choose some appropriate factories to visit. If everything has been done we can place the trial order or the sample order, if the quality of products are accepted by our customers, we can build long-term cooperate relation with this factory.
