附件：The Application of Alu Decolux 60µm and Alu Decolux Butler Finish 80 µm:
Alu Decolux products are created to produce solid metal surfaces on different substrates for furniture applications. Among other properties like an increased scrub resistance concerning the decorative side the back side is coated using a special adhesion primer for in line applications during the common processes in the described industries. The used back side primer participates in the reaction of the base layers like phenolic paper or melamine paper and gives a strong bonding strength between the papers und Aluminium.
Mainly three different applications are known, whereas each producer may have his own technology and his own knowledge. The adhesion between the used papers and the aluminium may depend on the formulation of the impregnation of the used papers, the moisture content and the applied processes. So the proposed data concerning the different processes can only be an approach to apply Alu Decolux in the processes.
1. HPL and CPL
The following table shall give an indication for setting values of press processes concerning HPL and CPL processes.

Aluminium Foil of 60 and 80 µm can be used for the production of HPL and CPL.
2. 2. Short Cycle Presses
Regarding short cycle presses different procedures are applied. The main requirement is to use a melamine paper between the Alu foil and the MDF/ particle board to get a good bonding strength between the wooden material and the Alu foil. Such melamine impregnated papers are available on the market. Further on the press time must be chosen as long as a good bonding strength between the base materials and the Aluminium occurs, visible by a fibre break in the melamine paper.
The following table shall give an indication for setting values of press processes concerning short cycle pressing.

Alu Decolux allows working on short cycle presses without heating up and cooling down at temperatures up to 180°C at short times in the range of 2-4 minutes. It is a precondition that special impregnated papers and wooden materials are used to get a good adhesion to the wooden material and to the Aluminium Foil and also to avoid high vapour pressure by moisture or other gaseous products that will produce bubbles between the aluminium and the base materials. In some cases it may be helpful to cool down until the plates are taken out of the press.
Experiences have shown that Alu Decolux 80µm should be preferred in short cycle press applications. Concerning HPL and CPL processes Alu Decolux 80µm and 60µm can be used.
3. Hot Melt
Alu Decolux products can also be laminated direct to MDF or particle board using a hot melt system based on PUR Hot melts (Polyurethane). In this case a special product using a special back side primer to get a very good bonding strength is available.
