Hi XX,Here are some insights on loading tips from our US plants when loading shipments in BAGS:
1.
Can Stack the bags sideways for chairs and chaise that are multiple packs but chaises that are single packs are stacked flat because of quality issues.
2.
Can pack wicker settee’s and wicker seat pads flat because they don’t stack sideways very well.
3.
US does not use any type of dividers. If you pack the product tight enough then you don’t have to worry about the bags staying in an upright position. Do not loose load the container. Be sure all products are packed tightly from side to side, top to bottom and front to back of the container.
4.
Check the sides of the container to be sure there are no sharp edges that could puncture the bags.
5.
Check for Moisture in container before it’s loaded.
6.
Check the bottom of the container for any ridges that may affect how the bottom layer of cushions sit. If there are ridges, can XX(Our supplieer's name) lay down a pc of Non-Woven fabric or cardboard to help the issue? See Below.
In addition to picutres of the each of the loading process and completion of the shipment (requested in a previous email to you), please try and quantify the amount of cushions we were able to pack into the 40’ regular size containers by using BAGS vs. Boxes. The general thinking here is that 20% more can be loaded using bags vs boxes. Please try and calculate with the XX(Our supplier's name) team.

Hi XX – based on the results captured from our recent full scale cycle counts and yield summaries at XX(Our Supplier's name) which reflects a little over 400,000 yds of fabric consumption, I would like to propose adjusting the scrap percentage for XX(Our Supplier's name) cushion yields ONLY, to reflect a standard 2% (not 1%) going forward. To be clear, this is 2% over the Import Drawing Yields which reflects 0%. At 2%, the consumption at XX(Our Supplier's name) will be more in line with the inventory variances we are seeing to date.
It should be set a little higher than our cut/sew shell supplier (currently set at 1%) but feel based on their results so far can achieve inventory goals with it set a bit less than our US factories (currently set at 3%).
Please let me know if you feel differently. If approved, please help to update XX(Our Supplier's name) Fabric Merlin yields accordingly.
