Right of local authorities to use geothermal energy ---Where the Council of any borough or county is authorised by any Act to construct and operate any geothermal works, and for that purpose to do all or any of the following things, namely, sink any bore and tap, take, use, and apply geothermal energy, the Council shall be deemed to be the holder of a licence under this Act to sink bores and to tap, take, use, and apply geothermal energy to the extent so authorised.Proclamation of geothermal energy areas---(1) The Governor-General may, by Proclamation which may from time to time in like manner be amended or revoked, declare that any area of land which is a source or is believed to be a source of geothermal energy shall be a geothermal energy area for the purposes of this Act or for any of those
purposes specified in the Proclamation.
(2) Every area which was a geothermal steam area within the meaning of the Geothermal Steam Act 1952 immediately before the commencement of this Act is hereby declared to be a geothermal energy area for the purposes of this Act.
其中， bores 是 “地热钻孔”的意思。
