This explains the cost of the container packed in the way that we received it - like point one below. But we still need to know what the cost difference would be for the other options.1. Cost of shipping the container as it actually was i.e. just palletising the smaller items and then stacking the spikes and bolt down shoe cartons directly on top =$610.69
2. Cost of palletising the entire order if we stick to a maximum height of 1000mm per pallet
3. Cost of adding another layer of pallets halfway up the container so that we can at least use a forklift to take some of the cartons from off the top.
We can't continue to receive containers stacked like point one (smaller items on pallets with fence post cartons stacked on top) because it takes too long for us to unload it. It took all day and we don't have the resources to cope with each shipment in this way.
Please can you see what the costs would be to put all of the caartons onto pallets (max height 1000mm) OR just adding another layer of pallets on top of the smaller items so that at least we can use a forklift to take the Fence Posts off with having to lift them down one by one.
