是问句,但是真的是吗? i think if we have the sense, some of the ideas in translation/interpretation will soon come out of our mind naturally whenever we meet some sentences, and that's the way this sentence is translated. 我还真不会说了,但应该说是首先要真正知道你/他在说什么,然后才能翻译得准确无误.
随便说两句(just take them as some hints to teloue, if they work.)---
1. 到美国一餐馆,waiter问table for...,一共几个人?

Tom:This test is killing me. 这次考试真难。
Mary:You said it. I'm afraid I'll fail the course. 是啊！我也这么想。我怕我这科会不及格。

翻译不要太拘泥于形式了,再者,这样的文学翻译,一般从字面都不是很好处理的,
另外,'easy'可以做名词么?它前面也没有修饰的吧?

第一句我的翻译是根据全文的主旨翻译的,而不是单独看一句话,所以直接告诉读者要坚定信念;
第二句不能用if done...来翻译,因为强调的是过程.
如果都是爱好翻译的,我们以后在这里可以互相探讨翻译心得体会.

中国的文言文用粗躁的英文表达,只是形似却达不到神似

都说翻译尽量做到信雅达,但有时只能做到其二甚或其一,也是无可奈何之事了,相信各位都会有同感.
以一楼内容的第一句来说,我觉得欠缺的只可能是一个"达"字,甚至我觉得不能说欠缺什么了,呵呵,
至于其他句子我认为信雅达全做到了

我还是觉得那个原来的翻译没有我的那个好 可能是他翻译得早,大家认可了而已,翻译没有一成不变的,也没有唯一的.原文中就没有人称代词,我的翻译里也没有.要不你把那个英语的翻译再翻译回去看看?

我老师曾说过,你的英语不会比汉语好,因为你生长在中国;到最后你的英语水平的提高和你汉语水平密切相关.
我个人的经验也告诉我一点,当准备把别人的话(包括书面句子)翻译过来时,才发现还要真正了解/理解说话者到底想说什么(逻辑准确)才能够准确翻译.
而古文翻译也是如此,我同意楼上的理解.
这样看来我们的古文水平也要提高啊.呵呵,我常常喜欢这样互相攀升的感觉,虽然我的英语还是still so far from perfect.
虽说现实生活中,献丑不如藏拙,但在这里就请恕我班门弄斧地任性一下吧...
